Arizona Fall League Update: Bae, Gonzales With Multi-Hit Games As Peoria Loses In The Ninth

Thursday might be the closest example to how the season has gone for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League. After entering the ninth inning with a three run lead, they dropped their game against the Mesa Solar Sox.

After getting the day off on Wednesday, Ji-Hwan Bae returned to the lineup and batted lead off and played in center field. He bounced back from his 0 for 3 with three strikeouts game on Tuesday with collecting a pair of hits. He also walked and scored a run.

Nick Gonzales hit second and played second, going 2 for 3 with a RBI single in the second inning, followed by a double. The hit drove in two runners, including Bae, with the latter scoring on a throwing error in the outfield.

While he added another extra base to his stats, Canaan Smith-Njigba struck out three times throughout his 1 for 5 day. His double was the second of the AFL.

Both Gonzales and Smith-Njigba were on base in the bottom of the ninth when Drew Lugbauer struck out to end the game.

Peoria will continue their fall schedule against the Scottsdale Scorpions with another late night game, with a 9:35 PM ET start.
