The Peoria Javelinas walked away with a 12-1 win against the Scottsdale Scorpions but didn't get away clean.
Pittsburgh Pirates' second base prospect and former first round pick Nick Gonzales left the game after being hit by a pitch. He initially remained in the game after being hit, only to leave a few innings later.
Before he left the game, he reached base all three times he came to the plate, hitting a single, walking and getting hit by a pitch.
Leading off and playing center field on the day, Ji-Hwan Bae went 0 for 4 but also walked and later scored. It was the 18th run he has scored this fall, and the Javelinas have not lost in their last four games when Bae and Gonzales bat one and two in the lineup (3-0-1).
Canaan Smith-Njigba has had an up and down fall for Peoria, but was able to collect two hits on the day, one of which was a double. He would later score and finish the day 2 for 5 with a strikeout as well. He brought his average up to .283 and OPS to .824.
Pitching a clean eighth inning, Bear Bellomy only needed 10 pitches to retire the side. Bellamy was a late addition to the Javelinas roster but has pitched effectively out of the bullpen for them.
